HEX - by Nathan Itter

While staying at her parent’s holiday house alone after problems with her partner, Jessica finds herself confronted by a demonic presence that sends chills through her and us as we witness this descent into an internal chaos. This psychological thriller, written and directed by Nathan Itter, is a pleasure to sit and watch even as we grip the sides of our chairs trying not to slip off the edge.

It has hold of us from the very start as we float across beautiful coastline landscapes into the suburban scene of Jessica’s world on this day. As the lead Priscilla Catania takes on all of Jessica’s fears and desires to a level that allows us to love her while also concerning ourselves with what the future now holds. Has this climacteric moment left no pathway back home.

Nathan Itter makes an appearance himself and his brilliant screen presence speaks for itself, I see his character as a combination of James Bond and Hans Gruber. Hex left me wanting to know what happens next and what they are up to now, which is what a good film should do.  I was both thrilled and delighted to watch it.
